Piazza Alvar Aalto is situated in the Porta Nuova business district of Milan and, with its modern, squared off buildings inspires the names of our Alvar and Aalto handle ranges. The square is named for Hugo Alvar Henrik Aalto, a Finnish architect and designer who, it is estimated, designed more than 500 buildings in his 50 year career.
As you might guess from the square appearance of these handle ranges, Alvar Aalto early career focussed on function and solidity.
